After the Republic was used up, the central planets formed the Galactic Empire and decided all the planets had to join under their rule. There was some disagreement on that point, a Rebellion began. During the War, many of the Independents drifted to the edges of the system, far from Imperial control. Out here, people struggled to get by with the most basic technologies; a ship would bring you work, a blaster would help you keep it. A captain's goal was simple: find a crew, find a job, keep flying. We’re playing three sessions of Impulse Drive, a PbtA hack about making a living on the fringe of civilized space, inspired by Fiction such as Farscape, Firefly, Mass Effect, Star Wars, and many others. Play larger than life, volatile archetypes in a vibrant setting that is detailed by all the players as you play. -------------------------------------- This game is part of the ongoing Star Wars Saturdays series. The time setting is Episode VI of the Star Wars movie series (that's Return of the Jedi), when the Empire was in control, jedi were few and hunted, and the rebellion was growing in fits and starts. Characters and settings created in this miniseries will exist in the SWS canon for future miniseries.

We'll create a neighborhood in New Gauntlet City, figure out what your team fights for and against, then dig into their lives and struggles. After a long season, the Gauntlet City Goblins have made it into the minor league championship series! The Midwest Divison Cup is a tournament held in late August. Every minor league baseball player knows that an excellent performance here will gain the attention of the Big Leagues and when rosters expand in the Bigs in September, they just might get called up to play in the pros! -------------------------------------- The Bat Hack is my version of The Black Hack RPG for minor league baseball players. The PCs will all play for the Gauntlet City Goblins. We'll sweat and bleed through a game or two each session and see what their lives are like off the field, too. Does your minor leaguer have a part-time job? Do they live with a host family? Are they local or from far far away? Why do they dream about making it to the bigs and what are they willing to sacrifice to achieve their dreams?
