Alun R facilitates the 2nd of 2 sessions of his PbtA game in development of dark age heroes confronting the supernatural. This session was organsied as part of The Gauntlet RPG Community's monthly calendar of games (www.gauntlet-rpg.com). When Sadhbh the Celtic Mystic seeks common ground with the spirits of the standing stones things do not go well: Wulfwynn the Storyteller's effort to praise them in song leads to violence and Osbeorn the Hammer of the Gods channels the power of Woden to tear one of the stones from the ground. With discretion the better part of valour the three retreat to consider their options and give Wulfwynn a chance to treat their wounds. There's a dead centurion offering insight, the spirits give Sadhbh another chance, and the mysterious estuary offers visitors who favour music. Then ... a pommel restored, a cohort granted their rest, and regular offerings begin again ...

We meet Osbeorn, the Hammer of the Gods, who believes Woden guided his footsteps to the other Heroes and to the village of Wulfsdael; Maerec the Revenant, with the scar that weeps every time he leaves the others, who sees opportunities for redemption everywhere; Wulfwynn the Storyteller, who has dreamed that all the others will die in the shadow of some standing stones; and Sadhbh the Celtic Mystic, who, burdened by overweening pride, sees the others as tools gifted to her by the Old Gods of her people. There's tension in the Great Hall, inexplicable shadows, and a sinister ancient hillfort. Then ... Sadhbh held and Osbeorn driven to protect her; Wulfwynn calls for attention; and Maerec recognises their foes from a time before Rome abandoned Britannia, so ... skeletal legionaries ...

A Prodigal Daughter Returning with a Vengeance, Princess Zenobia, helps disguise a Zhevra as something less dangerous, so that the Watchful Mutawarrior, 'Victory through Perseverance' has more chance of entering the city of the Ascendant Castle unnoticed with Lars the Remorseful Dragonfolk Runesmith pretending to be a travelling tinkerer. Thorian, the warrior Scholar of the Rad-Folk provides Victory with a model of how not to be a Mutawarrior. There's a disloyal Gallow Knight, Castle Servants willing to help a Princess, A Wall of Winds preventing aerial attacks, and some suspicion the bi-monthly 'Ascenency Lottery' may not be entirely fair. Then ... a Festival of Ascendancy, the back stairs to Ghoulian Gallowglass' apartments, the innocent clothier's daughter, and a confrontation that brings everyone's loose ends together into an explosive cliffhanger ...

How existential." - Jux, upon finding the cloning prisons of Bandomeer Well well, how did you end up in this rag tag bunch of laserbrains? You've got to be packing something serious to have been contacted by those running this operation as only the most skilled and dynamic people in the entire galaxy can be trusted with this job. You've been contacted by one of three shadow operatives who are looking to liberate the prisoners of a "Cloning Prison" facility controlled by a very strong arm of the Galactic Empire. These Imperials have been using the imprisoned champions of their fields to generate some of the most skilled and in demand clones and clone-slaves to populate the galaxy with their perfidious work. This is, of course, a matter of freedom and philosophical calling. These prisoners are being relegated to just fodder for soldiers, assassins, organ donors, and much, much worse. You and your crew have been able to settle into the local city near where the cloning prison facilities are located, and within days you are going to meet the shadow operative(s) who hired you for this mission and strike back at the Empire for both freedom, profit, and to make your name just that bit more meteoric in the galaxy. Not to say this is easy: You were brought in for a reason. The Moff in charge of these facilities is a well renowned problem but there have even been sightings of a falling-star's-honest Sith in the area. You will have to rely upon your partners, your Heart, and the Force to carry you through this challenge!

Alun R facilitates the 3rd of 4 sessions of Fate of Umdaar. This session was organsied as part of The Gauntlet RPG Community's monthly calendar of games (www.gauntlet-rpg.com). As the Champions of Umdaar head North in search of the Cudgelord, Thorian the Warrior-Scholar of the Rad-Folk must guide their climb up from the deserts of Dustball from the temporate plains. Only the swift action of Victory, the Watchful Mutawarrior, and her Zhevra mount, stop Princess Zenobia from falling to her death. Above the cliff Lars, the Remorseful Dragonfolk Runesmith, leads the Champions into the camp of the Exiled Marmots of the Tundra, who are building a monumen to their lost god. There's heated theological debate, tough moral questions are asked and Zenobia answers them so that a priesthood teeters ... then there's an icy crevasse, surprise attack and ... the Husks of the Cudgelord ...

As night rolls around, Lady Camila and Fujisawa attend a seance, while Priyanka and the Professor break into the Limehouse School.
