Aims: To tell the episodic story of wandering rebels fighting against the forces of corruption and oppression. Between each session - time will pass. This will allow the world to change around us and for the 'heroes' to shine in moments of high drama Tone: Grim - but players are free to inject humor when appropriate. Wednesday nights in July, I'm going to be running a playtest of my best buddy Jen's newest game design - Project Lycra. What's Project Lycra? It's "Grown-Up Masks with Feels". Jen started with the Masks Adult Moves and has created new Team Mechanics as well as a track for confidence vs. trust. Have you ever wanted to play a grown-up superhero using the core concepts of PbtA and Masks inspiration? This just might be your jam! I'll be running the game, and Jen will be playing. Be advised, this game is in an early state of development, so things might change between sessions. Trust me though, she'll be making it more awesome each time. ----------------------------------- This game is part of the ongoing Gauntlet Comics series. We create characters and flesh out what's going on in the House of Duchess Teresa, Senator Morrow, and in the capital at large. Then we start with a brief challenge montage: - Allistair, half brother of the duchess's wife, goes to his confessor the night before the summer festival. - Julietta, an archeologist who's work the Duchess's studious heir sponsors, explores the old library of Monolith Abbey - At Black Stream Inn, Victoria, who "solves problems" for the duchess, runs into an old acquaintance from her days in the theatre. - In the quiet, private tables of a discreet restaurant, Otto, a seer who advises the duchess's wife, speaks with his lover, one of the capital's bishops. When a confessor disappears, a scholar is attacked, strange laughter drives people to frenzy, and news comes of a rival senator's recent real estate acquisitions, the chaos begins. In this session, the island has been thrown into turmoil as protests and resistance explode throughout the town and country, and the government struggles to respond. Seeing the direction the wind is blowing, former baseball legend turned playboy Roberto the Patron decides to throw his support behind the party. Betrayed to the secret police, he and Augusto the Soldier are forced on the run in a hostile city, in a long night of intrigue and assassination.

We play the 12th session of twelve for a combination Tales from the Loop/Things from the Flood campaign. This rpg from Free League deals with kids and then teens in a 80s/90s that never was. Wednesday nights in July, I'm going to be running a playtest of my best buddy Jen's newest game design - Project Lycra. What's Project Lycra? It's "Grown-Up Masks with Feels". Jen started with the Masks Adult Moves and has created new Team Mechanics as well as a track for confidence vs. trust. Have you ever wanted to play a grown-up superhero using the core concepts of PbtA and Masks inspiration? This just might be your jam! I'll be running the game, and Jen will be playing. Be advised, this game is in an early state of development, so things might change between sessions. Trust me though, she'll be making it more awesome each time. ----------------------------------- This game is part of the ongoing Gauntlet Comics series. Characters and settings created in this miniseries will exist in the Gauntlet Comics canon (and on our wiki) for future miniseries.
