In January and February 2020, I ran Masks A New Generation. This is an ENnie award-winning superhero roleplaying game in which a team of young heroes fights villains, saves lives, and tries to figure out who they are—noble paragons? Dark avengers? Or regular kids? All against the backdrop of NEW GAUNTLET CITY, the greatest city in the world! In March and April, I'm running Power Beyond Doubt, a superheroic PbtA game in playtest (written by my buddy Jen Kitzman). In Power Beyond Doubt, the cast plays the adult versions of characters created in the previous Masks series.

As part of a new series on the Gauntlet, I offered a selection of some of my smaller games through SWORD QUEEN PRESENTS! In this session we play CUT TO THE FEELINGS, which was created for the Pride Month: Tabletop Gaymes (https://itch.io/jam/pride). In this GM-less game, you duel or engage in an all out battle royale against fellow BATTLE BABES. In this celebration of all things LGBTQIA+, you fight to hold on to your pride before giving in to your feelings and revealing the truth of your heart. We went full art-anime with this one and I'm very happy with it! I also hit an interesting snag rules wise, and got some great feedback from the players. I'm excited to tweak this game and work on a second version of it soon... There, our Gallivant actress L'Inferne performed a Royal command performance ... but not quite the one she'd envisaged when her role was given to her rival L'Allouette. Our Spy for the Apostles of the New Dawn, Nathalie, faced a hard choice between love of Simone and duty to 'Genevieve' the Order's mysterious leader ... and chose hopeless love. Our Hopeful Apprentice, Mateo, having confronted the Cardinal's 'nephew' in the street must put away childish things and escort his betrothed (Nathalie) for the first time. Our brave Swordsman, Volo, set the tongues of his comrades wagging when meeting L'Inferne in public ... but while on duty headed off the assassins targeting the King's Summer Masque. It was a busy evening ...
