Another playtest of OATHBREAKERS! In this third session we take a closer look at Zoya's dark doom that awaits her, what Death demands of Lucian, and how Finick's desire to be needed truly complicates things. We gather more clues, relationships become more complex, and there is a LOT of flirting, tragedy, and time loop shenanigans! I am also very proud about the Changeling cameo we have in here! CW: Incredibly veiled content, LOTS of flirting. Oathbreakers is a tabletop roleplaying game about a group of magic users, known as arcanists. The world of magic cannot be perceived by the mundane world, and must be hidden from them. As arcanists you are victims of the Conspiracy. You have been declared Oathbreakers, and most of the magical community doesn’t want to have anything to do with you. Together you will investigate what the Conspiracy is, what their nefarious plans are, and gather the clues you need to confront them. We must destroy the Conspiracy before they destroy us. The game is inspired by Vertigo comics from the 90s (Hellblazer, The Sandman, Saga of the Swamp Thing, Black Orchid, Invisibles, the Books of Magic); as well as the urban fantasy genre in general. Magic here is glorious and reality warping, based on ritual, and humans are just one of many sentient beings of magic that exist. Brindlewood Bay is a TTRPG created by Jason Cordova! It's inspired by the tv show Murder, She Wrote but with a sinister and supernatural twist. The game focuses on the Murder Mavens: retired women who love their mystery novels and solve crimes in their cozy bayside town. In this eighth session our season comes to a spectacular close! I absolutely did not hold back in this episode and things were weird, scary, and action packed! We still got lovely moments of character and connection too, sticking landings for a series is always hard and I'm glad we hit it pretty well! Alun R facilitates the third of 4 sessions of Hit the Streets - Defend the Block (by Rich Rogers) set in New Gauntlet City's rundown Lower Park District. The personal fall-out from the previous session continues but then all hell breaks loose as young people start rioting all over Lower Park! Hotwire has to come to terms with the fact that sweet reasonablness isn't always enough; Young Void wonders about joining the anarchy before his better judgement assets itself; and Blink pushes his 'ghosting' ability to breaking point to protect his family. Meanwhile, the Shadeux-Computer works out there's more to the music these kids were listening to than meets the eye, but is interrupted when she gets a call for help. After the crisis is averted and the villains plot foiled we finally see Hotwire make a connection with Shadeux; learn more about Void, and understand how his familiy's values make protecting Lower Park so important to Blink ...

This is an ENnie award-winning superhero roleplaying game in which a team of young heroes fights villains, saves lives, and tries to figure out who they are—noble paragons? Dark avengers? Or regular kids? All against the backdrop of NEW GAUNTLET CITY, the greatest city in the world! In March and April, I'm running Power Beyond Doubt, a superheroic PbtA game in playtest (written by my buddy Jen Kitzman). In Power Beyond Doubt, the cast plays the adult versions of characters created in the previous Masks series.

Everyone finds their real life and their crime fighting life clashing as money troubles Hotwire, school cliques trouble Shadeux, the day job troubles Blink and Void blows an important opportunity. On the journey Shadeux is increasingly reckelss despite Hotwire and Blink trying to guide her to safer paths, while Void finds himself more interested in the conspiracy he's convinced exists than in real life.

Sabila comes face-to-face with a hunter determined to bring them down, Phaethon has their back, and Ossian has to demonstrate his mysterious powers to hold back an Imperial patrol - with a little help. Meanwhile, Kallivan reveals they may have more to do with the rebel's current predicament than it at first appears, as they watch from afar.

Stories of Love in Manila - On The Gauntlet!

As part of a new series on the Gauntlet, I offered a selection of some of my smaller games through SWORD QUEEN PRESENTS! In this session we play STORIES OF LOVE IN MANILA, which was created for the Folklore Jam (https://itch.io/jam/folklorejam). In this GM-less game, create a story of love focused on magical beings of folklore in Manila, Philippines. One of you is the Reader, a tarot reader who helps guide those in matters of love. One of you is an Elemental, a being of Filipino folklore and magic that has learned how to take on a human form, and now struggle with love as many humans do. The rest of the players are Dreamers, beings of spirit who play with the deck and nudge the story in interesting directions. This was my first time running this game on the gauntlet, and it was such a pleasure! We all got really excited and each had our own deck to draw from, so it was a lot of fun intuitively interpreting all the different art styles.
