The characters head to the Catskills to investigate a New York mobster they suspect of links with the fey. They realise the danger may be worse than they feared when they discover the condition of some of his victims. This game is a reskin of Fate of Cthulhu from Evil Hat Games, substituting fey menace for eldritch horror. In this session we make characters, and then the group faces their first threat when they're attacked by an invisible observer in a cramped New York apartment. We meet two returning Operators: former BND False-face, Dylan and former CIA Sparks, Mia; along with defrocked priest and former member of the Vatican's 'Men in Black', 'Father' Timothy, and Anton, a deadly Librarian with a history in Britain's Occult Intelligence Service, Her Majesty's Pursuivants. There's a missing grad student who may know more about Count Simon Throndal, a Munich sanitorium (and secure psychiatric hospital), and a basement interrogation cell. Then ... an 'emergency admission', a coat of arms prompts Timothy to trust his faith not his hacker, and chaos creates cover for an exfiltration ...

Against the Sith Conspiracy (3/3)

Alun R facilitates the third of 3 sessions of Against the Sith Conspiracy, a drift of his own Against the Dark Conspiracy game. This session was organsied as part of The Gauntlet RPG Community's monthly calendar of games (www.gauntlet-rpg.com). Plans to lure Sith Adept Song to a to duelling ring in the Upper City of Taris don't start well as she senses Vann's disturbance of the Force and sends Tie Fighters after the team. Only Gar's flying and Kitporin's shooting buy them time to find a discrete landing pad near the duelling ring. Meanwhile, after a successful infiltration, Corsha deploys the perfect way to get where she needs to be ... 'deliberately' getting caught. There's a target competition involving a Wookie and Gar's father, Black Sun debt collectors, and (of course) a confrontation with Song and her Acolytes. Then a Dathomerian Witch is Force-d off a roof, there's a game of chicken between a spaceship and a traitorous swoop-biker gang and the promise that 'she'll be back' from a Sith Adept ...

Alun R facilitates a one shot of his drift of 'Hit the Streets - Defend the Block' (by Rich Rogers), for play in the Star Wars Universe. This session was organsied as part of The Gauntlet RPG Community's monthly calendar of games (www.gauntlet-rpg.com). Chan Brohrk, the Cynical Daredevil, teams up with Jocasta, the Wise Teacher, and Jensii, the Naive Youngster, to thwart Imperial plans for an offensive against the Rebel Alliance. After rescuing Jocasta's sister on Level 1313, a lead takes them to an Imperial base built into the walls of a canyon beneath a frozen waterfall. There's a fighting pit and a speeder chase; a Sith Adept with a range of 'allies', some personal revelations and a lots of stormtroopers ... then a hair-raising escape in a garbage skiff ...

This is part of The Gauntlet RPG Community's (www.gauntlet-rpg.com) celebration of 4 years of Star Wars Saturday, in whihc Rich Rogers runs Star Wars games using lots and lots and lots of different systems. Episode 2 opens with the team aboard Gar Scribbs' ship en route to Taris where, investigation reveals, stormtroopers are providing perimeter security for a secret operation deep in the under-city. There, a group calling themselves 'The Acolytes' is searching for an ancient light sabre. There are speeder bike chases, spider walkers, and an Acolyte ambush, ... and Rudi ... then ... this how you put a light sabre back together ...
